Why it matters
HTML carries a lot of noise (navigation, scripts, styles) that does not help a language model understand the content — it only raises the token cost and the chance of extraction errors. Serving Markdown when the agent asks for it via Accept: text/markdown delivers content that is already clean and to the point, without the agent having to scrape and clean the HTML itself.
